Eco Mattress FAQ'sby Eco Mattress Dude 2
Hey - you're not buying an $8 tee shirt here. You're spending a good chunk of your hard earned money on something you're going to be spending a LOT of time on. Of course you have questions!
Why Buy Eco-Friendly Latex Mattresses?
The decision is simple – what if you could get a higher quality mattress than “Pedic” mattresses that are more expensive? What if that mattress is free of toxins like boric acid that can seep into your skin and give off noxious fumes? That mattress is here – the Ecomfort line from Anatomic Global is one of the best latex memory foam mattresses on the market. Luckily for you, it’s also one of the most affordable, healthiest to sleep on, and eco-friendly mattress made.
What does Eco-Friendly Mattress Mean?
Many of our cotton mattresses hold organic certifications – this means they were made with materials that were grown with no chemicals or toxins. They are also produced of materials that are sustainable. Our latex mattresses have the highest concentrations of all natural materials available – and no petroleum based products that can be fire and health risks. Our flagship line from Anatomic global is made with the most advanced eco- friendly manufacturing processes in the nation – and compressed, packaged and shipped to your door.
How does shipping work?
Our mattresses are delivered to your door, always with free shipping. Our latex mattresses are packaged in a sturdy bag, then the air is vacuumed out, allowing for less space taken up on the delivery truck, which makes our eco-friendly mattress shipping system the most environmentally friendly possible.
30 Day Love It or Leave It.
Of course, if your mattress is defective in any way, we’ll replace it for free. We’ll take it one step further with a no-questions asked love it or leave it policy. If at any time during the first 30 days of mattress ownership you’re not completely satisfied, just let us know, and we’ll take it back. We’ll refund your money, less any return shipping charges.
What are the environmental impacts of eco friendly latex mattresses?
Most memory foam mattresses on the market are made with petroleum based foams. These foams are produced with the same chemicals that run your car! In order to make these flammable mattresses flame retardant, manufacturers add chemicals to limit the flammability of petroleum based foam. These chemicals, such as boric acid, are the reason for the “chemical” smell and off-gassing of noxious fumes you suffer through when you buy a non-eco-friendly mattress new.
Do your mattresses smell?
Every foam produced will have an odd smell for the first few days – many of the non-eco friendly mattresses give off toxic fumes that can be dangerous to infants and toddlers for weeks. While our eco friendly natural latex mattresses may have a rubbery smell (they are made of natural rubber, after all) for a day or two, most of our customers report little to no smell – and if there is a small amount of off-gassing, it goes away in a few days.
